Last weekend while driving back from early Christmas shopping, we decided to stop at our local animal shelter to “see the puppies” with Jake.  When we approached the front door to enter, there was a sign stating that kittens and cats were on sale for $20. They called it a “Fall Special.” Although we found discounted cats and kittens odd, we proceeded inside to view the animals. We saw very few dogs and plenty of cats and kittens, which explained the “Special.” In one of the cat rooms, we were drawn to a beautiful long haired oranged cat. Then, we saw his golden eyes… and it was love. Even though we didn’t plan on adopting a new pet, we couldn’t help ourselves in the end. We discussed; we debated; we went into other room and looked at other animals, but in the end, we couldn’t just leave him there. The paper on his cage stated that he was 8 months old and had been left in the night dropbox on 11/4/08. While two cats are more than enough, we just couldn’t bare leave this little guy behind in his sad cage.  He genuinely seemed interested in us, displaying an alluring temperment, so ultimately our hearts beat out logic and we brought him home.

We decided to name him Oslo, after the capital of Norway, since we believe he has some Norwegian Forest Cat in him like our other cat Whiskers.
