11-weeks-ultrasound-sanitizedAfter a little over a month of waiting, we’re officially announcing our pregnancy.

I took a pregnancy test at the end of January and the test came back postive almost immediatly.  These tests generally take at least a couple of minutes, so I guess I was VERY pregnant. Beginning practically the next day, I became sick and have stayed that way ever since. My stomach continues to be a mess, but hopefully that will subside soon. Throughout the month of February through the beginning of March, I had to get several blood tests, exams, and two ultrasounds with the second one being combined with a blood test to determine chromosome issues. I received good results from that test on Tuesday and on Wed. (3/18), I received the results of all the other tests, which again were good. After that, we finally felt comfortable sharing our news.

First, of course, were the family calls. Joel’s mom didn’t believe him (at first) and my mom said that “she had a feeling.” Surprising her is near impossible. Siblings came the next day and then we planned to tell friends, but a Facebook post from a family member made the news public well before we had a chance to tell our close friends. I  told work on Friday and it feels great! I hate secrets and this was a biggie.

Enjoy the pic of our new little peanut. In about a month, we will hopefully know if it’s a boy or a girl… so stay tuned.
