Today ended the Baby Web Shower; thanks to those who participated. Joshua is doing well. He’s probably 6 pounds and he’s much fuller in the face and body. He’s adorable and although he cries A LOT, I really enjoy having him around.
Today I also had a chemo treatment to maintain me. Mom and I saw my oncologist and said that this treatment was probably overkill. It was different than any I had to get before and I came in shot form because if it came through IV, it would absorb too fast and then you’re more likely to have a reaction. In shot form, it absorbs slower, so a nurse watched me for an hour and when I didn’t have any changes, I got to go home. Overall, it wasn’t that bad. The shots (there were two) only hurt a little and thankfully didn’t burn like the shot I used to get to stimulate an increase in white blood cells. I also got the shots in my bottom and I have plenty of padding there! I go back for blood work and a port flush in two weeks. I may not need any more chemo before going to Tampa, which, of course, would be great because in Tampa, they’re going to zonk me out and I’m definately not looking forward to that.
Speaking of Tampa, we’re still waiting on the results of whether or not my brother is a match. We had some trouble because my doctor’s nurse went on vacation and dropped the ball, causing it to take two weeks for my brother to get the box. Thankfully, my brother wasted no time. He got the box on a Sat. and had his blood drawn the following Tuesday. He then shipped it overnight back to the lab so that they received it Wed. morning at 7AM. Now, we wait because the results take 10-14 business days. Hopefully, we’ll know next week.
