December 31, 2009. Can you believe it’s already been 10 years (technically 9) since we entered the new Millennium? Seems like that just happened a couple of years ago, yet here we are, mere hours away from bidding farewell to one decade and welcoming a new one hoping it will bring along many blessings with [...]
You can imagine how surprised and thrilled I was today when I checked facebook and saw Jamie had updated her status with this message: “Jamie Quevedo Is finally starting to get better.” It was litteraly the high point of my day, no… my week! Jamie was talking a little today and I was actually able [...]
Yesterday, Jamie received her fourth and final dose of post transplant chemotherapy. Unfortunately, these treatments have left her with a severely painful and swollen mouth and throat. She is still, rightfully, unwilling to talk and has been directed not to swallow to avoid sending liquid into her lungs. It’s this mouth and throat pain that’s [...]
Christmas for us was a mixed bag this year. We (and many others) did everything we could to make it a memorable Christmas for the kids, and to that extent we were successful. Jake had an awesome day playing with all his new toys while I constantly followed behind reminding him to clean up. We’ve [...]
The past couple of days have been a bit rough for Jamie. While individual mouth sores have not appeared, her entire mouth and tongue feel swollen and her throat is extremely sore. From our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2010!

Cindy and Pedro, thanks for thinking about and praying for us during this time! Thanks to everyone who requested a wristband to show support. If [...]
My hemoglobin is back up thanks to yesterday’s blood transfusion. In fact, it’s higher than when I entered the hospital. What’s odd is that my white blood cells are also up from .49 to 1.05. That’s really not supposed to happen yet. It might be because of the transfusion or because of the steriods I [...]
Wish there was nothing to report, but today yields two new developments. First, I have to have a blood transfusion because my hemoglobin is below 8. Barely though. I’m at 7.8. Second, I’ve started to “scallope.” Meaning, my tongue is developing a white film on it. I have white lines on the sides right now [...]
That’s right. With only one room to go, the installers realized they didn’t have enough wood to finish the floor. After calling the wood company, they realized they had been shorted two boxes. Everyone was very apologetic for the mix-up, none more so than the installers themselves who no doubt really wanted to finish on [...]
