Today should be my last day before the transplant, and the passed two days have been dubbed “days of rest” even though I still have the 24 hour drip and yesterday I was started on a ton of antibiotics. I feel more fatigue; all I really wanted to do yesterday was sleep and since I didn’t have night chemo, I went to bed earlier, which is important because I’m interrupted for vitals, pills, etc. about every 4 hours. Today’s been non-routine. I get a new doctor because each one works the ward 2 weeks at a time and the one I have had is now off. We finally just met him. Neither of us can pronounce his name and he definately has an accent, but seems nice. It appears that tomorrow, my Day 0 Transplant Day, will occur quite late. Since the donation’s coming from Germany, it has to do with when the plane lands, which apparently is later. So, I’ve heard between 11PM to midnight / midnight to 1AM, but it will be night, so Tuesday/Wed. will be long days/nights. Plus, I get my first dose of metatrexate on Wed. too. Feeling more restless, but I’ve been told that could be the steroids – same thing with having sleeping issues. I’ve experienced some nausea, but I’m still eating solid food and have done okay with the drugs. I’ve also had some headaches, but I can take something for that and it works pretty well too.
Right now, I’m waiting for lunch. The physical therapy woman hasn’t come so I’ll do my exercises later if necessary. I still need to shower as well. And there’s still lunch and dinner – oooh, ahhh. So, it’s still so far, so good. Hopefully, I’ll post in a day or two to tell how the transplant goes.
UPDATE: Saw the physical therapist and worked on balance, which I think I’ve been struggling with for a long time. Let’s see… I’ve walked and showered PLUS I did a little art project. I painted and wrote a message in inside a paper crane I made. It’s hanging in my room and was rather fun to make. The art lady was nice, and said she’d come back again.

Thoughts and prayers are with you. Will you get a special gown for your birthday? Look for some “stuff” coming in the mail.
Also, I’m not sure about the birthday suit, but a nurse told me they used to give out cake before budget cuts. However, at midnight, I really don’t think I’ll want cake anyway
I will be praying hard. thanks for the updates.
It is Tuesday – praying for you. More of staff is donating $for you as they think of you.
